our history
Brockett Family Farm LLC (previously Brockett Dairy Farm) has been in existence at the current location since 1992. The farmland has been owned and managed for multiple generations since the 1800s by the Brockett family. It was most notably known as the W.E. Brockett Turkey Farm in the 1970s. Sheep, beef, dairy cattle, turkeys, and chickens have all been raised and sold on the farm. The farm has in past years also provided for the owners through maple syrup, an orchard, and potatoes.
who We are
My name is Danielle, and I along with my husband Ed and our two daughters live in the home that has been inhabited by Brocketts for almost 200 years. Farming runs in our blood. We are the 7th (and 8th) generation of Brocketts that list “farming” as occupation. History is important to us. We hope to leave this farm to our family if they choose this life someday.
our beliefs
We aim to be good stewards of the land by rebuilding soil organic matter and restoring degraded soil biodiversity. We farm the way our ancestors farmed – by raising livestock with no antibiotics or hormones, in the sunshine on pasture with access to shelter. Animal husbandry is a family affair. We are passionate about this life and preserving it for generations to come by respecting the animals and land.
